Bobby Joe Matlock, Jr., 47, of North Little Rock passed away Friday, April 28, 2017. He was born in Clinton, OK on December 25, 1969 to the late Bobby Joe Matlock and Orellia LaVerne Neese. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock for many years.

Bobby was a talented musician and loved music, motorcycles, animals, and the outdoors. His mission in life was helping others in need and helping others who were starting a new life. He was self-employed as The Friendly Trapper, a business of live trapping and relocation of wild nuisance animals , and The Neighborhood Handyman, a lawn care and landscaping business. He will be dearly missed by a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Matlock, step-dad, Bruce W. Beard, uncles, Dale, Johnny, Richard, and Tommy Gibson and Charles Matlock; and aunts, Linda Crutchfield and Alene Wallace.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Matlock; three daughters, Brittany Kennedy, Elizabeth Ramirez, and Sarah Matlock; step-son, Paul Edwards; mother, Oreillia LaVerne Neese; uncles, David, Don, Paul, and Joney Gibson; aunts, Ruth Ponder, Sherry Slatter and Brenda Maples; brother, Phillip Matlock; sisters, Katrina Matlock, Danette Marlatt, Amy Armstrong, and Rachael Reed; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4, at First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock with Reverend J. N. Holmes officiating. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
