Bobby Garner

Bobby “Poppa” Lee Garner, 67, kicked his wheelchair to the curb and gained his wings on December 24, 2019 after a long battle with CMT. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

Bob was born to the late Thurman “Dub” and Rachel Garner in Searcy, Arkansas on May 18, 1952. He was the oldest of three boys. Bob was blessed with a large and loving family. He was married to the love of his life, Cheryl, for forty-six years.

He joined the Army National Guard in 1970, surveyed land for ten years, and then worked at Camp Robinson until 1992.

Bob is survived by his wife, Cheryl; sons, Jason (Carrie) and Zeb (Carrie); grandchildren, Bryson, Zoe, Anslee, and Avery; brothers, Mike and Joe (Tracy); as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and greats.

Visitation will be 2:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Smith- North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Monday, December 30, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors, will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
