Bobby Eugene Fewell, 75, passed away on January 28, 2011. He was born in North Little Rock on April 5, 1935 to Eva Glover and Albert Francis Fewell. He was a member of Baring Cross Baptist Church.
Bob graduated from State Teachers College (UCA) in Conway. Bob's life as a salesman began at Baker Shoes in downtown Little Rock. His extensive insurance career began with USF&G. Afterward, he went to Rector Means and Roland where he became President. Then later, started Arkansas Surplus Lines, Commercial Aviation, Fewell and Associates and owned American Investors Life Insurance. Bob's insurance career brought him in contact with insurance executives all over the world, traveling to places such as London, South Africa and Hawaii. He was a land developer and was involved in numerous businesses. In later years he entered the car business with Dick Layton Buick (which moved and became Chenal Parkway Buick) and University Truck Center. Bob was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He lived for duck season each year, spending most of his time at Miracle Mallard Duck Club. He also enjoyed spending time on "R" Dock at Mountain harbor Resort on Lake Ouachita.
Bob was preceded in death by his former wife Shannon Fewell, his parents, and brother, Billy Fewell. He is survived by his son, Howard Fewell of Little Rock; granddaughters, Brooklynn and Shelby Fewell of Pennsylvania; his Labrador, Hunter; his Yorkie, Charlie and his special friends, Nadine Rail and Joette Poe.
Funeral services for Mr. Fewell will be held on Tuesday, February 1st at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little Rock Funeral Home with Reverend Neal Winstead officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home on Monday, January 31st. The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice for providing Bob with such special care.
