Bobby Branch Dyson, 69, of Roland, was called to his heavenly home on July 22, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billie Bob Dyson and his mother, Gloria Branch Dyson. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Wanda Sue Dyson; son, Robert Branch Dyson and wife, Aimee; stepson, Dan Mack Porter and wife, Narumol (Nong); granddaughter, Riley Dyson; grandsons, Brannon Dyson and Daniel and Nathan Porter; brother-in-law, Wayne Campbell and wife, Ann; nephews, Steve Campbell and wife, Anne and Scott Campbell and wife, Margaret; cousins, Lou Ann Ford and Johnny Dyson; and his loving extended family, John and Dannie Sheffler, John and Glenna Waller and Gene and Ann Porter.
Bob graduated from St. Joseph High School (Missouri) and Highland, Kansas Junior College. He served seven years in the Signal Corps of the Arkansas National Guard. Bob was a man of many seasons, starting with football, track and rodeo. He was a member of the Pulaski County Sheriffs Mounted Police, participated in bass tournaments and loved deer and duck hunting.
After becoming a Christian on July 9, 1998, his passion turned to participating in all functions of his church, especially the music ministry at The Church at Pinnacle Mountain, of which he was a charter member. He enjoyed singing on Thursdays for Chenal Nursing and Rehab Center. Taking trips with the First Baptist Church of Fordyce Keenagers became tops on his list of special things to do. Spending time at the lake house with his family and friends for over 25 years was most special of all, especially after being diagnosed with cancer in November, 2007. Bob fought a courageous battle to overcome his illness.
