Bobby Cooksey

Bobby Cooksey, age 78, of Caddo Gap, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

He was born on June 16, 1943, in Visalia, California, the son of Sol Martin “Buster” Cooksey and Edith Gibson Cooksey. On April 21, 1962, he was married to Ketha Carter Cooksey who preceded him in death on December 4, 2014. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Bobby Dwayne Cooksey; his parents; two brothers, J. W. Cooksey and Gordon Cooksey; and three sisters, Betty Coats, Rita Moore and Joyce Counts.

Bobby was a concrete finisher and enjoyed his work. A big Caddo Hills Indian fan, he enjoyed making all the games he could and also enjoyed trips to the casino. Bobby always loved being with family, especially the grandkids. He was a United States Navy veteran.

He is survived by three children and their spouses, Karen and Jim Counts of Caddo Gap, Robert and Brenda Cooksey of Amity and Cynthia and Clint McKellar of Caddo Gap; six grandchildren and their spouses, Krystal and Jesse Cox, Brandon and Darren Count-Martin, Kara and Sy Hill, Karman and Ryan Nolen, Jordan and Jessica McKellar and Jared McKellar; ten great-grandchildren, Zoe and Jett Cox, Ashton and Madden Hill, Berkley, Huntley and Lincoln Nolen, Katie June and Castin McKellar and Rhiyln McKellar; three sisters, Connie Kemp of Visalia, California, Shirley Wiyott of Glenwood and Margie Turner of Hot Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 5, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Scott Vaughn and Bro. Bob Wiyott officiating.

Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Nelson Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jordan McKellar, Jared McKellar, Ryan Nolen, Jesse Cox, Keith Counts, Tommy Burgess and Brandon Counts.
