Brother Bobby Ray Cook, 62 of Arkadelphia, AR. went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 26, 2009. Bobby was a loving and giving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was born in Searcy, AR on April 5, 1946. Brother Bobby passed from this world on Thursday morning at his home. He served proudly in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He served as pastor of several churches around Arkansas and served in many capacities in his local Baptist associations throughout his 37 years of ministry. He was an evangelistic pastor who won many souls to Christ. His favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 40:31, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Brother Bobby loved to play softball in church leagues and owned his own woodworking business called Bobby's Wood Treasures. He loved to spend time with his wife Helen, play with his grandchildren and go fishing and hunting with his two Jack Russels, Sampson and Delilah. Brother Bobby was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University and attended Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He is survived by his mother, Dura Cook of McRae; his wife of 40 years, Helen Hoyle Cook; a daughter, Connie Cook Stringfellow and her husband Tommy of Paragould; a son, Bobby Cook and his wife Kim of Arlington, Texas, six precious grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the Ruggles-Wilcox funeral home in Arkadelphia. Funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Park Hill Baptist Church of Arkadelphia with Brother Charles Hargett officiating. Burial will be at First Baptist Church cemetery, Bismarck. Memorials may be made to Mount Zion Baptist Church Building Fund, Box 398, Arkadelphia, AR.
