Bobby Bryant

Bobby Thomas Bryant, 75, of Monette, filed his final flight plan and received his eternal wings on Thursday, August 22, 2019. Born in Jonesboro on Oct. 2, 1943 to Guy and Lessie Ott Bryant, he was a retired AG Pilot and retired Arkansas State Trooper. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 558 of Monette and the Arkansas State Police Retiree Association. He was a loving husband, friend, dad, granddad, uncle, great granddad, nephew and cousin.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Brenda Hambrick Bryant of Monette; daughters, Bobette Leggett, Kristy Lamb (Andy); granddaughters, Elizabeth Leggett, Lauren Eldridge (Justin), Andrea Shelby (Scott); grandson, Steven (Leah); great-grandchildren, Eli Shelby, Ava Lee Shelby and Mason Lamb; nephew, Billy Bob Bryant (Lanette); great- nephew, William Guy Bryant; great-niece, Mary Beth Bryant; Special Aunt, Lou Ann Ott; cousins, Judith Lawrence, Shelly Ledbetter, Bruce Ott and Ellen Fallon; brother-in-law, Steven Hambrick (Sandy), sisters-in-law, Rita Hamrick, Belinda Scott (Roger), Beverly Luck (Richard); numerous nieces and nephews and dozens of life-long friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Guy Bryant, mother, Lessie Bryant and his twin brother Billy Bryant.

Bobby's most recent favorite past time was driving his Cushman Truckster to the local coffee shop to drink coffee and tell tales with his buddies. Bobby was known as being a practical jokester and for telling stories that he could barely get through without laughing. His laughter brought smiles to many. He and his twin, Billy, were the light of their parents' eyes and kept everyone on their toes with their mischievous antics.

Bobby loved flying, whether crop dusting or flying dignitaries across the state during his tenure with the Arkansas State Police from which he retired. He loved classic cars, steel guitars, traveling the western states and his community. Bobby and his twin were members of The Thunderbirds, a band in the late 50's, and cut a record that had mild success in the UK which he joked about being their claim to fame.
