Bobby Lewis Blasingame, 81, of El Paso, Arkansas passed away September 5, 2022. He was born March 13, 1941 in Searcy, Arkansas to Leonard Blasingame and Lois Pickard Blasingame.
To make a living, Bob sold and installed floor covering until his retirement. At heart, he was a farmer. Growing up he farmed with his family raising crops and milking cattle. The days were long and hard but they were always fond memories for him. Later after he and Lenita moved back to El Paso, he shared the love of farming and land with his grandson.
Working on the farm taught him how to work on all kinds of equipment and he could fix anything. He was not afraid to completely tear a tractor apart and would put it back together with only a few “left over” parts.
Family was the center of his life and he loved them fiercely. Despite his Lewy Body Dementia diagnosis he was determined to continue to communicate that love with his family until his death.
Bob served in the National Guard and was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Lenita Blasingame of El Paso; daughter, Audra (Lance) Welcher of El Paso; grandson, Brody (Natalie) Welcher of El Paso; brother, John (Dorothy) Blasingame of El Paso; and sister, Sallie Samuelson of Knoxville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Danny Mac Blasingame, DeWitt Blasingame, Hicks Blasingame; and three brothers who died during childhood.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 8th from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment at Blasingame Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at Stanford University: Stanford Medicine, 485 Broadway Street, 4th Floor, Redwood City, California 94063.
