She was preceded in death by her first husband Col. James B. Usery, Jr. and her daughter Deborah Usery Dillon.

Bobbie was a breath of fresh air to the town of Peotone with her Southern ways. She was an active member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs. Her local chapter flourished under her leadership. She served several terms as local chapter president and held many other positions. Most recently Bobbie served two terms as assistant to the GFWC International President, traveling across the country hosting international meetings. She also became actively involved with the Peotone Chamber of Commerce because of her husband's locally owned car dealership, Trader Schroeder.
