Bob White

Bob White, age 80, of Kirby, died Monday, February 17, 2014. He was born on September 3, 1933, at Mounds, Oklahoma, the son of Howard E. White and Sylvia Augusta Hawkins White. On July 6, 1957, he was married to Mary Womack. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Owen White, Gene White and Harloe White; and one sister, Martha Walker. He was a member of the Kirby Church of Christ. Through the years, he had served as a Bible teacher, deacon and elder. He was a master plumber and former water well driller. He is survived by his wife, Mary White of Kirby; three children and their spouses, Leta and Paul Rivera of Kirby, Ted and Teresa White of Kirby and JRay White of Amity; three grandchildren and their spouses, Brandy and Vince Romeo of Kirby, B. J. and Amanda White of Hot Springs and Porche and Brad Harmon of Kirby; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Rambo and Sophia Harmon; two brothers, Shorty White of Murfreesboro and Gib White of Georgia; two sisters, Ilena King and Sylvia White, both of Kirby; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 20, 2014, in the Kirby Church of Christ with Buddy Ray and Billy Golden officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Valley Grove Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Vince Romeo, Charles White, Howard White, Stanley White, Bob Ligon, Donnie Reid, Paul Rivera and Jeromy Brewer. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Pedron, Wayne Walker, Randy Golden and Tommy Jenkins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southern Christian Children's Home, P.O.
