On the evening of February 5, 2022, the Lord took Bob Ed Scarborough to heaven after a well fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Bob was born in North Little Rock to Thomas and Myrtle Scarborough on November 28, 1946. He grew up in Pike Avenue and attended Baring Cross Baptist Church where he was baptized and graduated from Ole Main High School in 1964, the captain of the football team and president of the senior class.
Not long after, he joined the US Navy and served four years on a supply ship that repeatedly entered the Saigon harbor.
On his return, he married and had a daughter, Stephanie, and a son, Michael. Bob loved his children very much.
Bob had a servant’s heart. He served NLRPD twenty years, LR Prosecuting Attorney’s Office five years, and PCSD for fifteen years.
He married Sandee Hunt in 1999, and together they joined Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Sherwood where Bob served as a deacon until Stephanie’s illness, was a Life Group Leader and served years on the Hospitality Team from parking lot greeting to greeting inside and for seven years made the Sunday morning coffee.
Bob was never boastful about anything he accomplished in his life or career. He quietly and with dignity and a humble heart lived the life of a very good man. He would say right now, “but I made mistakes and messed up”, but he knew God loved and forgave him and Jesus died on the cross to save him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; his precious daughter, Stephanie; his brother-in-law, Gene Bale; and sister-in-law Garrie Blanton.
Sandee, his wife of twenty-two years survives him. Also his son, Michael; step-sons Sam Hunt and Darren Greenblatt, Zachary Hunt and Hannah Hunt step-daughter who called him dad, Amanda H. Johnston and husband Mickaila Johnston; grandchildren Bella and Saylor Johnston of Poulsbo, WA, Hayley Scarborough of Russellville, Arkansas, Olive Hunt of Princeton, NJ, Mia and Gabe Hunt and Harper and River Cooper of North Little Rock; also his sister Beverly Bale and brother Tom and Julia Scarborough and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Cornerstone Bible Fellowship “Move The Mountain” , 7351 Warden Road, Sherwood, Arkansas 72120.
Visitation will be 12:00 PM, Monday, February 14, 2022 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, with service to begin at 1:00 PM.
