Reverend Dr. Bob Johnson Sr. age 79 of Arkadelphia died Friday, January 23, 2015. He was born September 6, 1935 in Denton County Texas the son of Otis and Faye Wilson Johnson. He was Pastor of Reader Baptist Church and a member of Second Baptist Church in Arkadelphia.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vernice Nicholas Johnson, five sons, Bob Johnson Jr. of Carrollton, TX, David Johnson and wife Paige also of Carrollton, Bill Johnson and wife Roxanne of Norfolk, NE, John Cavnar-Johnson and wife Mary of Kingwood, TX and Jim Johnson and wife Barbara of Ft. Worth, TX, two daughters, Lynda Daily and her husband Doug Rawn of Little Rock and Elizabeth Messmer and husband Trent of Hutchinson, KA, one brother, James Johnson and wife Jodi of Corvallis, OR, one sister, Nell Nichols and husband Mel of Texas, 27 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, January 27th at Second Baptist Church in Arkadelphia with Pastor Stan Parris officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
