Blossom Norrell

Blossom Codia Norrell, 54, of Sherwood went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 2, 2009. She devoted her life to her husband Gordon; daughter, Nelly; and son Paul. She had a generous and giving heart and embraced many people into her family, particularly Leonard and Polly Norrell, John and Loretta Norrell, Shauna Willett, Marites Moody and Pat Whitfield.
Blossom was born September 18, 1955, in Iloilo Philippines. She trained as a registered nurse and worked in Saudi Arabia for 5 years before marrying and settling in Arkansas. She has been working for Baptist Medical Center since 1988. She was an exceptional nurse and her tireless compassion was a ministry to those truly in need. She supported a small church in the Philippines and dreamed of someday helping them expand their ministry. To honor her dream, donations can be made to Fellowship Baptist Church in Balasan, Iloilo.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon Norrell, of Sherwood; daughters, Nelly Norrell, of Crozet, Virginia, and Shauna Norrell Willett, of Waco, Texas; son, Paul Norrell, of Crozet, Virginia; two brothers, Isagani and Gamaliel Codia; and mother, Nelly Codia, all of the Philippines. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wilfredo Codia and grandparents, Perpetua and Montano Duremdes.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rosie Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
