Maggie Blanco "Bea" Goodwin Adams, of North Little Rock departed this life for her eternal heavenly home on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at the age of 98. She was born in Redland, Louisiana, on December 10, 1910, the oldest of three daughters born to Luther Thomas and Ruth Cook Goodwin.
She grew up in Springhill, Louisiana, graduated from Springhill High School at the age of 16, and attended Lynn's Business College in Shreveport. After graduation, she returned to Springhill and worked for the Agricultural Extension Service of Webster Parish and Piney Woods Lumber Company. She then moved to Dierks, Arkansas, where she worked as a buyer for Dierks Lumber and Coal Company.
In 1934, she married Jewell Wesley Adams. She had resided in North Little Rock since 1955 and was retired from the Little Rock YWCA. She was a member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church and in earlier years was an active member of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both sisters, one son-in-law, and two great grandchildren. She is survived by three daughters, Louise Overby and Kay Violette (Tony) of North Little Rock, and Patti Sharp (Dave) of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, Robin Bredensteiner, Todd Sansom, Ross Sansom, Tamara DeBord and Zachary Sharp; eleven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice for their loving care. Special thanks to Ann Woods, our hospice volunteer, who was always there when we needed her.
