Blanche Burns Mitchell, 92, of Carlisle, Arkansas, was born June 11, 1919, at Wattensaw to Luther D. and Eva Mae Horton Burns and went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 4, 2011. She was a housewife and a member of Landmark Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Turner Mitchell; son James "Jimmy"; parents; brothers Warren, L.D., Hulon, Walter, Will, Vernon and Emmett; sisters Helen, Grace and Margaret; and great-grandson Aaron Fahey.
She is survived by her five sons, William (Susie) Mitchell of Cabot, Vernon (Linda) Mitchell of Carlisle, Miles (Carol) Mitchell of Nashville, Arkansas, Ronald (Lori) Mitchell of Mabelvale, Jerald (Pam) Mitchell of Carlisle; two daughters, Clara Mae (Junior) Harlan of North Little Rock, Carla (Charles) Barnwell of Beebe; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two brothers Ray Burns and Otis Burns of Beebe; and numerous nephews, nieces and family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Chambers Nursing Home for all their care.
Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Landmark Baptist Church, Carlisle, with burial at Carlisle Cemetery.
