Billy "Rex" Duke

Billy Rex Duke (Rex, as he was known to so many), passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019.  He was the owner and operator of Cabot Appliance Sales and Service and a retired Cabot school bus driver.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran, honorably serving three years as a helicopter mechanic.  He was a current and founding member of Victory Baptist Church of Cabot, Arkansas.  He was an avid University of Arkansas Razorbacks fan.

He was born in Lonoke County, October 19, 1936 to Howard O. (Jack) and Jennie Gunnell Duke. Rex was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Floyd, Clyde, Guy, Fred and sisters Elizabeth and Murl; the mother of his daughters, Joy Faye Highfill Duke; and by wife Jewell Gibson Duke; stepdaughter Mary Hutcherson, her husband Larry Hutcherson; stepson-in-law Jerry Bynum; and son-in-law Mike Eugenis.

He is survived by his two daughters, Melody Wathor (Kelly) and Rexanna Eugenis; two stepdaughters Jeannie Bynum and Vickie Garlington (Bill); three grandsons; and five step grandchildren; his brother Robert (Bob) Duke; and dear friend Joyce Scarberough.

Memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 501 N. Lincoln, Cabot, AR  72023.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Victory Baptist Church with visitation at 10:00 a.m.  Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home.  www.smithfamilycares.com
