Billy Wayne Funderburk, age 80, of Kirby, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at his home.
He was born on January 24, 1941, in Newhope, the son of Abe Funderburk and Juanita Anderson Funderburk. On July 3, 1959, he was married to Annie Smith Funderburk who preceded him in death on December 24, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his son, Robbie Funderburk, his parents and his brother-in-law, Billy Draper.
He was a member of the Kirby Church of Christ and retired from the Briar Gypsum Plant. He enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling and loved being with family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Billy Cogburn; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Jan Funderburk; his daughter-in-law, Karen Funderburk, all of Kirby; six grandchildren and their spouses, Katie and Jon Neal, Cody and Kayla Funderburk, Jessica and James Pinkerton, Dan and Heather Funderburk, all of Kirby, Molly and Blake Angel of Hot Springs and Becky and Cody Stearman of Texarkana, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Case, Grant, Mazie, Ollie, Ella, Cain, Coy and Luke; and two sisters, Blenda Draper and Nelda Jean Funderburk, both of Kirby.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 28, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with John Howard officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Blake Angel, Cody Funderburk, Daniel Funderburk, Jonathan Neal, Cody Stearman and James Pinkerton.
