Billy L. Satterfield, LLB, age 81, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2007, in Little Rock, Arkansas, from leukemia. He was born in Faulkner County, Arkansas on July 25, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Lyda Sellers Satterfield; a sister, Hazel Schnebelen; and brother, Robert "June" Satterfield. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Ann Satterfield, of Heber Springs, Arkansas; step-daughter, Melayne Satterfield (Bob, Billy's nephew) and step-grandson, Jason Bragg, of Linden, California. He is also survived by his daughter, Cynthia S. Moody (Carl); his son, Guy Randolph Satterfield (Debbie); and his daughter, Kimberly S. Currey (Mark), who are the children of his first wife, Jacqueline B. Satterfield, all from Little Rock; and his grandchildren, Adam Moody, Laura Satterfield Levine, John Randolph Satterfield, Caitlin Currey, Alec Currey, Caroline Currey and Ellie Currey.
He served in the United States Navy, during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law, class of 1952. As an attorney he practiced law in Little Rock for over 30 years and was joined in law practice by his children, Cynthia S. Moody and Guy Randolph Satterfield.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Veterans Administration Hospitals for their excellent care and service to Bill for many years and in the final stages of his life.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11th, 2007, at the Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, 8801 Knoedl Court (NW corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock, if you wish to share in remembering Bill's life.
