Billy Mulhollen

Billy Doyle Mulhollen, 77, of North Little Rock, formerly of Wynne, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015. Bill is survived by his wife, Yvonne Linam Mulhollen and his children, Randy Mulhollen (Dorothea) of Ownesboro, KY, Pam Mulhollen Hess (Jim) of Wynne, AR and Kelli Mulhollen Dumas of Memphis, TN, as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William (R.W.) Mulhollen and Lena Crafton Mulhollen, his brother, Danny Byron Mulhollen and his grandson, Adam James Hess.

Bill was born December 25, 1937 and raised in rural Arkansas on a farm in McDougal, the son of two school teachers. He graduated from Rector High School in 1955. He attended the University of Arkansas, graduating with a BSCE in civil engineering, and remained a lifelong HOG fan. His first job was at the Arkansas Highway Department, and he retired 43 years later as the head maintenance engineer for the State. He was inducted into the Civil Engineering Academy of the University of Arkansas by his fellow members.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, and hunt deer, duck and turkey, especially with his grandchildren. He was a founding member of the Speer Hunting Club. He knew people all across the state and never met a stranger. He loved to entertain and always had jokes ready for the crowd (with the punchline written on an index card in his front pocket). He attended West Point Church of Christ.

Services will include visitation Wednesday June 17, 2015 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and graveside service Thursday June 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Johnson's Cemetery in Wynne, R 145 off Hwy 64.
