Billy Hale

Billy C. Hale, 78, of North Little Rock, passed away at home surrounded by family, Tuesday, August 3, 2010. He was born September 1, 1931, was a 1949 graduate of North Little Rock High School, and received his BA from Harding University in 1956. A Korean War veteran, he received the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. Bill was a Disciples of Christ, Christian Church minister in the Central Arkansas area for the past twenty three years and at the time of his passing was pastor of Antioch Christian Church, Tull, Arkansas.
He is survived by his beloved helper of 46 years, Carolyn Harrell Hale; four sons, Keith Hale (Joe) of Platteville, Wisconsin, Stephen Hale (Andi) of Vine Grove, Kentucky, Billy Hale, Jr. (Kathleen) of Bryant, and James Hale (Christy) of North Little Rock; one daughter, Karla Wright of Portland, Oregon; one brother, Ronnie Hale of Maumelle; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Hale; one sister, Geraldine Privett; and two brothers, Don Hale and Gerald Hale.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, 2803 E Keihl Avenue, Sherwood, with Phil Davis, Richard Tull, and Rick Burrows officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery on Highway 89.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
