Billy D. Copeland age 80, of Gurdon formerly of Arkadelphia, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in Little Rock. He was born April 10, 1933 in Delight, Arkansas to Clarence and Gladys Hardin Copeland. Billy was a logger and a Baptist. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, a step-son, Daniel Dewayne Witherspoon; two sisters, Faye Rhinehart, Clara Mae Taylor; two brothers, Bobby and Cecil Copeland.
Survivors are his wife of fifty-six years, Milrene Copeland; two sons, Larry Copeland and wife, Joann of Murfreesboro, Arkansas Victor Allen Witherspoon and wife, Shelia of Friendship, Arkansas; two brothers, Curtis Copeland of Gurdon, Arkansas, Junior Copeland of Texarkana; one sister, Fern Ray of Texarkana; four grandchildren, Damon Witherspoon and wife, Dawn of Nashville Tennessee, Allen Witherspoon and wife, Melody of Arkadelphia, Joshua Copeland of Dallas, Texas and Jake Copeland of Murfreesboro, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren, Madeleine, Ian, Lucas and Cassidy.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 11th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Mike Black officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
