Billie Wayne Poe, age 72, passed away peacefully in his sleep, July 24, 2017, in Marianna, Arkansas and woke up in Heaven. He is finally free.
Billie was born June 1, 1945 in Paragould, Arkansas to Billie Bond Poe and Mary Alice (Busby) Poe. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Denise Poe, his parents and his step-father, Dewey E. Morris, whom his widowed mother married in 1963.
He is survived by his four children: Michael Chism and wife Traci of Hector, Arkansas, Dewey Poe and wife Stacey of Benton, Arkansas, Angela Poe Ross and husband Mark of Benton, Arkansas, and Billie Poe and wife Alicia of Little Rock, Arkansas; four sisters: Glenda Lesher and husband Bill of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Mary Joyce Gaut and husband Bob of Clinton, Arkansas, Pamela Cox and husband John of Benton, Arkansas, and Karen Poe of Mabelvale; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Funeral service will be held at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas on July 31, 2017 at 9:00 AM with Dr. Terry Parrish of Spring Creek Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hornersville Cemetery in Hornersville, Missouri following the service with Mike Chism, Dewey Poe, Billie Poe, Kyle Uselton, Parrish Ross, and Corey Poe assisting as pallbearers.
