Billie Coleman Murray passed away on Tuesday, January 14th. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. DuBose "Bo" Murray, her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wendell H. Coleman, sister Barbara Jean Halford (Jack), her brother W.H. "Sonny" Coleman, Jr. (Freddie), and her nephew Bob Coleman.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Barbara "Babs" Dodd (David) and Billie Thorpe (Rob); grandsons Matt Thorpe (Sara), Dr. Wes Thorpe (Catherine) of Little Rock, and Dr. Jay Thorpe (Katherine) of Bentonville. along with thirteen great-grandchildren; step-children Ed Murray, Melissa Murray, and Lucy Murray Green of Hot Springs; and her special niece and nephews, Lisa Thompson (Greg), Ricky Halford (Melinda), Danny Halford (Julia) and Jeff Halford (Sarah), Lucy Price (Ben) and Bill Coleman.

Billie was born on January 3, 1923, in Memphis, TN. After moving to Little Rock as a teen, she graduated from Little Rock Senior High School where she was a member of Delta Beta Sigma sorority. She also attended Memphis State College, now the University of Memphis.

Billie was an active member of the Twentieth Century Club in Little Rock for many years and was also active in the Presbyterian Church. She loved singing, dancing, and especially shopping. Hospitality was one of her lifelong joys, as she regularly cooked and entertained family and friends. Her favorite hobbies included reading, traveling, "antiquing" with friends, shopping at the Dallas Market, and decorating.

A special thanks to Sandy German, who brought much joy and laughter to Billie's life in her later days, and the wonderful, compassionate nurses and aids at Hospice Home Care of Little Rock for their loving and genuine care.

Her bold, "redhead" personality, sense of humor, and love for family, friends, and life will be greatly missed. The charming hostess to the end - we will all miss her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan's Purse or the Pulaski County Humane Society.
