Bill Wenzl

After a couple years of poor health, Bill Wenzl, 69, of Cabot, Arkansas, passed away on July 25, 2009. Bill was born August 26, 1939, in Tecumseh, Nebraska, to a farming family. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1957, retired after 20 years, and continued on with 20 years at the post office as a rural carrier in Cabot, Arkansas. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2002. Though a dedicated military and civil servant, the joy of "Farmer Bill's" life was his garden.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Julius William Wenzl and Emma Frances Christen Wenzl Jarrett; stepfather Harold Jarrett; brother-in-law Leroy Abel; and sister-in-law Sharon Wenzl.
Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Loreen Supancheck Wenzl; daughter, Melinda Wenzl of Stafford, Virginia; son, Craig Wenzl of San Francisco, California; brothers Joe (Marg) Wenzl of Tecumseh, Nebraska, and Steve Wenzl of Choctaw, Oklahoma; sisters Clarine Abel of David City, Nebraska, and Judy (Larry) Pella and Susie (Gary) Lacey of Tecumseh, Nebraska; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, with Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Jacksonville, Arkansas. Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tecumseh, Nebraska, with inurnment in David City, Nebraska.
