Bill Neel Waddell, age 79 of Arkadelphia died Wednesday, February 07, 2007 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born April 12, 1927 at Richwoods Community, Clark County, the son of the late Burt and Marie Neel Waddell. He founded the Stop & Shop Grocery Store in 1953 and operated it until 1975. He also owned the BAMAJAWA Apartments along with other rental interests. He was a WWII Navy veteran and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Barentine Waddell and one brother, Douglas Waddell.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Waddell of Pace, FL and Barry Waddell of Windsor, CO; one daughter, Marietta Tucker of Arkadelphia; six grandchildren, Clint and Hayden Tucker, Bailey and Blaire Waddell, Lee and Jack Waddell, Jr., Jennifer Crowe, Melissa Maxwell; five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Faron Rogers officiating, under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Visitation 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Clark County Humane Society.
