Bill Moorman

Bill Moorman, age 81 of Arkadelphia, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Arkadelphia. He was born December 17, 1929, the son of Sam & Vera Thomas Moorman. He served on the Clark County Quorum Court for 28 years, he taught school at Bismarck High School and Gurdon High School where he was boys & girls basketball coach and history teacher. He went on to get his Master's Degree from Henderson and served as guidance counselor at Gurdon High School. He served as Deacon & Elder at the Pine Street Church of Christ for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Katherin Moorman Kelly, Evelyn Moorman Wright, and Eloise Moorman White Grier, one brother Lemuel Moorman.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat Duce Moorman, one daughter Melinda Moorman Young and her husband, Blair, three grandchildren J. B., Christine & Jax all of San Antonio, TX., and one sister Dortha Moorman Ligman of Little Rock.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, August 21, 2011, at the Arkadelphia Church of Christ with Jim Buie officiating. Burial will be in the Alpine Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Saturday at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Pallbearers will be Austin & Roger Wingfield, Jimmy Denton, Bobby Smithson, J. B. & Blair Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Judge Ron Daniell & Clark County Quorum Court and Bill's nephews.
