Bill "BD" Landers, 85, of North Little Rock passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 25, 1927 in Osawatomie, Kansas to John Landers and Anna Fouts. He was united in marriage to Donna Landers on April 8, 1948 in Van Buren, Arkansas, who preceded him in death. They enjoyed sixty-three years of marriage together.
Bill was a member of Saint Edward's Catholic Church in Little Rock.
Bill enjoyed a full life. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad as a general foreman. He enjoyed his later years with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his family whose lives were enriched by his unconditional love and generosity.
Survivors include his sister Johnetta McClain and his brother "Monty" Richard Lamont Landers, and devoted children Kevin and Sue Landers, Anne Graham, Jeff and Tiger Landers, Carla Wooley, Scott and Ruth Landers, Bill Hale, Andy Wooley, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice for supporting him and his family so that he could share his final days in the comfort of his own home. In appreciation, the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday at Saint Edwards Catholic Church. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
