Billy (Bill) Dale Hackworth age 63 of the Joan Community near Arkadelphia died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 in Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He was born January 28, 1946 in Heber Springs the son of the late Willard and Idale Ward Hackworth. Bill was a contractor, retired from the Arkansas National Guard and was currently serving as Fire Chief of the East Clark County Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife of forty years, Judy Wingfield Hackworth; two sons, Brannon (Kim) Hackworth of Ft. Smith, AR; Blaine (Ashley) Hackworth of Arkadelphia; one sister, Paula Hackworth of Heber Springs, AR; three grandchildren, Ali, Caden and Colton Hackworth.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2009 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royce Savage officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery at Joan. Family will rceive friends Thursday 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Paul Green, E. B. Green, Bruce Hixson, Marty Thibodeaux, Kurt Hill, John Haltom, Glenn Hughes and Brian Gontarek. Honorary pallbearers are members of East Clark County Fire Department. Memorials may be made to East Clark County Fire Department 3394 Hwy 51 N. Arkadelphia, AR. 71923 or to Clark County Humane Society 627 Walnut St. Arkadelphia, AR. 71923.
