Bill Forte

Bill Forte, age 85 years, three months and 23 days, was born September 1, 1925 and died December 24, 2010. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at First Baptist Church in McRae. His only child was Gerald Wayne Forte, who was killed in the Vietnam War. He has left to join another brother and two sisters, Carthel Forte and two sisters, Ann Moore and Johnnie Beth.
He is survived by a brother, Charles Forte. Bill had seven nieces, Sharon Matthews, Jodi McAner, Jill Thompson, Susan Dodge, Mary Dodge and Merle Lynn Witkowski; five nephews, Tommy Forte, John Forte, Joe Forte, Jim Greene and Paul Dodge. He also had many great-nieces and nephews. In the last few years a great-niece, Jeri Linn Foster, became very close to him. She made him feel very special and he made her feel the same.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at McRae Veterans Memorial.
