Beverly Joyce Young, 78, of Malvern, Arkansas went to be with the Lord November 8, 2018. She was born May 2, 1940 in Waverly, New York to the late Harold E. Corner and Charlotte (Blanchard) Corner-Jolly.
Beverly was a member of Social Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was gifted with many talents including painting, dancing, skating, and music. Beverly painted many beautiful works in oils and watercolors. She enjoyed all types of dancing-including ballroom which she both taught and competed in. Beverly was a champion roller skater. Her musical talent was evident in her dual role as a drummer and back up singer with BJ's Country Lovin' Band. Beverly served as Miss Southern California Beauty Queen. She was adventurous and loved to travel. Beverly had a great sense of humor and shared it with family and friends.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James "Jim" Young; sons: Gary Young and Bruce Corbett-Young; step-father, C.S. "Pete" Jolly; brothers: Donald "Don" Corner and Harold "Butch" Corner; and sister, Vickie Corner.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Angie Loy and husband Ron of Malvern, Arkansas, Valerie MacEntee and husband Mike of Benton, Arkansas, Scott Ficker and wife Laurie of Alexander, Arkansas, Scott Young and wife Janice of East End, Arkansas, Dennis Young of Illinois, James Young, Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri, Genna VanMeter of Indianapolis, Indiana, and David Corbett of Faulk, Arkansas; daughters-in-law: Tammy Young of Benton and Sheila Corbett-Young of Faulk, Arkansas; thirty-four grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; brother, William Corner and wife Sue of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Sheryl Juliano of Hemet, California; and a host of family and friends who love Beverly and will miss her always.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, November 12, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 13, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home with burial following at Social Hill Cemetery.
