Beverly R. Fain

April 12, 1938 — January 2, 2021

Our beloved mother, Beverly R. Fain, age 82, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus while in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

Beverly was born on April 12, 1938, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur Reeves and Leah B. Moore Reeves. On January 14, 1964, she married Douglass W. Fain, who preceded her in death on January 11, 2004. She is also predeceased by her parents; her daughter, Wendy Warland; her grandson, David Fain, Jr.; her sister, Donna Osborne; and two brothers, A.G. Reeves and Bill Reeves.

In her early years, Beverly graduated from Springfield High School, played the accordion and was an accomplished ice skater. She was an excellent cook and gardener, a brilliant decorator and enjoyed family camping as well as overseas trips with her husband. She raised her children in Richmond, VA and later returned to Austin, Texas, Doug’s home state, where she raised her granddaughter Jessica, then later to Corpus Christi, Texas. Eventually, she and her family moved to Hot Springs where she enjoyed their home by the lake, playing her prized Martin guitar, golfing, playing bridge with friends and singing with the Cedar Mountain Singers. Beverly was an avid reader and collector of much loved autographed books. Her cheerful laugh, funny sense of humor and warm smile will be missed.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Anita Fain of Westminster, South Carolina and James and Nicole Fain of Caledonia, Mississippi; one daughter, Lisa Lohr of North Chesterfield, Virginia; ten grandchildren, Paula, Ryan, Jessica, Krystal, Elizabeth, Larry, John, Mary, Audra, and Christopher; five great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Susan Reeves of Springfield, Illinois; several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of wonderful friends.

The family will gather this summer in Livingston, Texas for interment and a celebration of life for mother and father.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
