Betty Jean Lewis (Dirr) age 90 went to her eternal heavenly home after a long and happy life. Her family finds peace in knowing that she is finally reunited with her husband Alfred Lewis after 21 years. She passed from this earth in the early morning hours of August 1st, 2021 surround by her loving children. She was born on June 9th, 1931, in Fort Wayne Indiana to Erman & Bertha Dirr.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years Alfred Lewis (1999), parents Erman & Bertha Dirr and 10 brothers and sisters.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children Pam Graddy (husband Joe), Greg Lewis (wife Sherry), Kathy Adkins (husband Chuck) and Jeff Lewis (wife Terri). Grandchildren LTC. Christopher Adkins (and family), Jennifer Kline (and family), Matthew Graddy, Michael Graddy, Michelle Chapman (and family), Brian Lewis, Camden Lewis, Cade Lewis, and Avery Lewis. Great grandchildren Alexandra Adkins, Luca Adkins, Eden Adkins, Alex Kline, Rosalie Kline and Walker Kline.
Betty married her husband Al at the age of 21. She was a devoted Army wife and followed Al around the world and across the US multiple times. Together they raised 4 children. She was a devoted mother who loved her children tremendously and spent her life pouring into them. When Al retired from the military they settled down in Central Arkansas. Here they built a wonderful life together. In her free time, she loved to work in her yard and tend to her garden. She regularly attended church at Seventh Day Baptist Church in Little Rock. She enjoyed working on puzzles, crocheting, sewing, playing the piano and doing the crosswords. One of her favorite things to do was to spend time with her kids, grand kids, and great grand kids. She enjoyed cooking for them and organizing family get togethers.
Betty was an amazing human. She was so well loved and loved everyone around her so well. She leaves behind a legacy that has not just impacted her family but everyone who crossed her path. She was extremely kind and thoughtful. She would joyfully drop everything to help those who needed her. She had a great sense of humor and loved to joke. Once her children were grown, she spent many years volunteering.
