Bettye M. Butler

Bettye Marie May Butler, 94, of North Little Rock, passed away January 26, 2025. She was born on December 20, 1930, in East Prairie, Missouri to Norma Jewel Duke Adams May and Fred Albert May.

Bettye attended NLR schools and graduated in 1948 from Little Rock High School. Bettye had a longtime career in insurance retiring as Vice President/Special Accounts at Sedgwick James of Arkansas. She was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church since 1962 and was Outreach Leader/President of the Gore Sunday School Class. She was a Certified Professional Insurance Woman with Insurance Women of Little Rock, and a member of Daughters of Nile, Mah-Ta-Na Temple.

Bettye was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles Ira Butler; her parents, and siblings, Clara Lillian Adams Watson, Helen Elizabeth Adams Scrape, Clarence Earl Adams, Hattie Lou Adams Rowland, Iva Lee May Lane, Oleta May Holloway, Florence Irene Adams Cude, William Calvin May, and two precious grandchildren, Charlotte Ann Butler and Bradley Kent Butler. She is survived by her three sons, Charles Michael (Linda) Butler and Robert Kent (Cricket) Butler of North Little Rock, and James Patrick (Debbie) Butler of Shreveport, Louisiana and two grandchildren, Todd Jeffery Butler (Elizabeth) of Springdale, Arkansas and Autumn Joy Parker (Ryan) of North Little Rock; and three great grandchildren, David Calen Parker, Rylin Joy Parker and Cannon Jaymes Butler.

Services are being handled by Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. A graveside service for Betty will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2025 in the gazebo at Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, AR 72117.
