Betty Wood

Betty Jo Wood of North Little Rock, born November 10, 1934 in White County Arkansas to the late Lois Odene Ketchum, went to the Lord on Friday, June 15, 2018. Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bob Wood also of NLR, daughter Brenda Fudge (David) of Kerrville, TX, son David Wood (Linda) of NLR, daughter-in-law Sandra Wood (Larry) of NLR and son Steve Wood (Karen) of LR., brother-in-law Bill Wood (Linda), sister-in-law Irma Wood and brother-in-law Dan Littlefield all of NLR. Bob and Betty have ten grandchildren; Alison and Sean McKee, Davella Fudge, Wiley and Sabra Fudge, Adam Wood, Katie and Clay Bewley, Chris and Charity Wood, Sarah and Cesar Merlos, Callie and Mat Smith, Kayleigh Wooten and Sid Wood; five great grandchildren, David L Wood, Hannah Bewley, Oliver Bewley, Silas Fudge and Delaney Fudge. Betty is preceded in death and in the resurrection by son Larry Wood of NLR and grandson Adam Wood of Cabot.

Betty was a loving, attentive and devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, active in her faith and church and entirely committed to God and her family. She remained faithful throughout her extended illness. For a stay-at-home mom, Betty was "employed" in bailing hay, raising livestock, gardening, teaching Sunday school, serving in Eastern Star, helping with Cub Scouts, attending countless baseball practices, overseeing the shelling of tons of purple hull peas, making the perfect Sunday dinners, sewing, enforcing music lessons, running car pools and so much more. She gave her time and love to her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and to her community. She was the keeper of our family, was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.

The family is especially thankful to her tender caregivers, Jean and Betty, the caring nurses and staff at Baptist Hospital LR and to the incredible staff of Hospice Home Care LR. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Monday, June 18, 2018 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home followed by internment at Arkansas Memorial Gardens.
