Betty Walden

Betty Walden, age 91, of Mount Ida, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. She was born on August 29, 1925 in Hugo, Oklahoma, the daughter of Fred Orendorff and Rosa Lee "Dixie" Patterson Orendorff. On April 21, 1942, she was married to Raymond Walden who preceded her in death on March 8, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Raymond "Butch" Walden; her brother, Leon Orendorff; her sister, Oleida Sue Gildon: her grandson, Chet Walden; her granddaughter, Stacy Walden; and three great-grandchildren, V. J. Walden, Eric Cook and Star Walden. She operated the Old Silver Rock Shop for several years and was Baptist in her faith. In years past, she and her husband enjoyed traveling on their motorcycle, fishing and camping. She loved to watch the birds and work her crossword puzzles. She is survived by three children, Bill Walden and Tommy Walden, both of Mount Ida and Sandra Davis of Glenwood; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, November 18, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Mike Smith officiating. Interment will be in Owley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Walden, Tommy Walden, Billy Walden, Tommy Davis, Bambi Ellison and Joey Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of 400 Hall, Montgomery County Nursing Home.
