Betty Sue Scissell, age 63, loving and generous mother of three and devoted wife to husband Burley Glenn Scissell Sr., passed away in her home on December 12, 2022, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. God’s faithful servant will be celebrating Christmas with Jesus this year.

Also, here to remember her love are eight grandchildren, Donavan Coley (Shelby), Camran Coley (Savanah), Morgan Coley (Devin), Chelsea Garner (Levi), Wilder Skinner, Reagan, and Aidan Scissell, and our miracle baby, Isaac Shroyer. In 2021 and 2022, Betty and Glenn were gifted with another great blessing, becoming great grandparents to Ezra and Thea Roush.
Betty was not only the mother and grandmother to these but nurtured the lives of so many more. She did not just take care of her children, but the friends of her children, not just the grandchildren, but their families, too. She befriended countless coworkers, coworkers of her family, and invested in their lives and happiness. Betty loved to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to feel needed, to protect and to make sure that everyone was loved and whole.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, James Edward, and Ruth Loraine Thompson; sisters, Cecilia Elizabeth Robinson and Rose Ann Flowers; brother, Billy Thompson; loving father and mother-in-law, Burley and Wanda Scissell.
