Betty Harmon Stephens

May 20, 1940 - Nov. 17, 2023

Betty Harmon Stephens, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Nov. 17, 2023, at the age of 83. Born on May 20, 1940, in Martinville, Ark. Betty was the daughter of Arthur Harmon and Reba Talley. After the death of her father, she was later raised by her stepfather, Curtis Talley.

Betty was a devoted mother to her two sons, Keith Stephens and his wife Terri, and Todd Stephens and his wife Angela. She cherished her grandchildren, Delaney, Sydney, Jeffrey, and Jennifer, and they were the light of her life.

Betty was a longtime realtor, mostly with McKimmey Associates, Realtors. She was known for her kind heart, infectious laugh and unwavering support for her family and friends. She was always there to lend a listening ear, offer words of encouragement, or provide a helping hand. Betty's warmth and compassion made her a beloved member of the community.

She loved her Golden Girls meetings for weekly breakfast at Hardee’s and any excuse to meet for special celebrations. She spent time with special friends traveling to the beach or taking a bus to visit the casinos. She adopted Otis and Juanita Nicholos, or they adopted her, as their daughter. Betty and Juanita spent every weekend together going to Lake Hamilton.

Throughout her life, Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and their pets. She loved gardening, traveling, penny slots at the casino, shopping online and she was always eager to share gifts with others. Betty was also an avid magazine reader and a passionate reader of her daily newspaper.

Betty's legacy will live on through the love and memories she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her sons, Keith Stephens (Terri) and Todd Stephens (Angela); her grandchildren, Delaney, Sydney, Jeffrey and Jennifer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Harmon and Reba Talley, her stepfather, Curtis Talley and infant brother Gary Talley.
