Betty Ruth Slater, 69, of Bryant, Arkansas, passed away on April 16, 2017 in Bryant, Arkansas
Betty was born in Fordyce, Arkansas on January 3, 1948. She went on to receive a degree in teaching and retired in 2010.
Betty is preceded in death by her father, George Slater; and her brother, James Slater. Betty is survived by her mother, Doris Gipson; her son, Ronald (Yasoon) Koon; and grandchild Elliot. She is also survived by a brother, Lloyd Slater; a sister Carolyn Sliter; adopted sister and brother, Charlene Rogers and David Stills; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of the Hospice and nursing home staff at Southern Trace Nursing Home for their support in Betty's final days. A special thanks to Debbie Weatherford, Carla Miranda, and LeAnn McNulty. Betty enjoyed traveling, reading, and taking care of her beloved pets.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Concord Cemetery, in Furlow, Arkansas.
