Betty Ann Willis Simpson

Betty Ann Willis Simpson, age 87, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, March 31, 2025. She passed peacefully surrounded by her beloved family. She reunites in heaven with her mother, Nina Jean Newton Willis, father, James Penny Willis, brother, James Edward Willis and her husband of 53 years, Walter E. “Sonny” Simpson who all preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Scott Simpson, daughter Stacy Robinson (David), grandson, Kyle Robinson (Adelia), granddaughters, Kendall Stogner (Chad) and Savannah Ruiz (Aryan), great-granddaughter, Kennedy Renee Robinson, sister-in-law Frieda Willis and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was a proud graduate of Little Rock Central High School, Class of 1956. Her life centered around her family. She was a stay-at-home mom until her children reached school age. She then pursued her nursing degree at St. Vincent Infirmary School of Nursing. After completing her LPN degree, she worked at CARTI for over 30 years. She loved her patients and work family.

In addition, Betty was a faithful member of Geyer Springs United Methodist Church. In her later years, she moved to Foxridge Chenal where the staff fondly named her “Dynamite” and “Betty Boo”.

A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 11 a.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home Little Rock. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CARTI, Carti.com/foundation, 8901 CARTI Way, Little Rock, AR. 72205 or Arkansas Hospice, arkansashospice.org, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, AR. 72116.
