Betty Sue Scroggins

Betty Sue Scroggins, 85, of Benton, Arkansas passed away June 1, 2023.  She was born on March 18, 1938 in Grant County, Arkansas to the late Newton David Styers and Gerene (Burton) Ewing.

Betty served the Lord and was a lifetime member of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.  In her younger years, Betty taught Sunday School and Bible studies.  Betty loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed spending time out in her garden, planting flowers, and watching the birds-especially hummingbirds. 

Preceding Betty in death are her husband, Henry Scroggins; brother, Wayne Styers; and great-grandchild, Ethan VanCamp.

Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory three daughters:  Theresa (Wayne) Richardson of Benton, Arkansas, Karen Sue Penn of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Donna Sanders of Benton, Arkansas; seven grandchildren:  Amanda Sweeney, Bryan Milks, Laura (Chris) Cowart, Kimberly Burrow, Todd (Jenny) Burrow, Amy (Zeke) Woodard, and Lisa Willits; eleven great-grandchildren; and many family members and friends who love Betty and will miss her always.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday, June 5, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street in Benton, Arkansas.  Funeral service, officiated by Pastor Randy Ward, will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 6 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home with burial following at New Friendship Cemetery.
