Betty Scott

Betty Lou McKeithen Scott, 83 of North Little Rock, went to Heaven on July 1, 2011. She was born on October 27, 1927 in Stephens, Arkansas to Archie Pierce McKeithen and Elizabeth Susan Hale McKeithen, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Clarksville, Arkansas, and attended Park Hill Baptist Church for 60 years.

Betty Lou graduated from Clarksville High School in 1945. She received an AA degree from Hendrix College in 1947, a BSBA from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1949, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, and a BA in Library Science from Louisiana State University in 1950. She was a Librarian at Clarksville High School and Little Rock Public Library, and she participated in the family business. Betty Lou was a life member of PTA. She was an artist and enjoyed square dancing, gardening, butterflies, and song birds.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James S. Scott, Sr.; 2 sons, James S. Scott, Jr. and Richard McKeithen Scott (Cheryl); a daughter, Susan Elizabeth Clark (P.J.); and grandchildren, Kathryn Leigh Clark and James Sidney Scott, III.

Betty Lou was a volunteer at Arkansas History Commission, a member of Alpha Society, United Daughters of Confederacy, Heritage Seekers, and Shepherd's Center.

The family would like to give thanks to the staff at Robinson Nursing Home. Memorials may be made to Park Hill Baptist Church, 201 East C Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas, 72116.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, 758-1170.
