Betty Person Rowin, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully at the age of 99 and a half, surrounded by her family on December 14, 2024. Known for her warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering generosity, Betty lived a life full of love, kindness, and unforgettable stories.

Born on July 10, 1925, Betty grew up in Springdale, Arkansas and spent much of her life making lasting connections with everyone she met. Whether she was hosting family gatherings, helping a neighbor in need, or sharing a laugh with a stranger, Betty had an unparalleled ability to make people feel at home. She never met a stranger, only potential friends, and her boundless compassion and openness touched countless lives over the years.

Betty was involved with the PTA at Homer Adkins Elementary and worked tirelessly raising money for the betterment of the school and was instrumental with building a new Boys and Girls Club in Jacksonville, AR. Betty retired from Remington Arms and moved to Greer’s Ferry, AR to enjoy life at the lake.

Betty's family was the center of her world. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, great-grandmother and great, great-grandmother. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and a freezer full of ice cream. Betty's ability to make everyone feel special and cherished is a testament to the depth of her heart.

Her warmth, wit, and genuine care for others will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Betty's legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched, and in the memories of her laughter and love that will forever echo in the hearts of her loved ones.

Betty is survived by son Brent (Tomma) Person of Laverne, OK, daughters Carol (David) Rounsaville of Austin, AR, Susan (Joe) Sharp of Romance, AR, Patty (Phil) Bryant of Romance, AR and Linda (Gary) Underwood of Heber Springs, AR, 25 grandchildren, 38 great- grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren, and her dog baby Grizzly. She was preceded in death by her father, James Baggett and mother, Nellie Cox Baggett, sister Carol (Louis) Fantinel, husbands, AE “Bud” Person , Jimmie C. Rowin and daughter Lisa Person Shepard. The family would like to thank Deanna Carr, caregiver, Arkansas Hospice and the staff at Greystone Nursing and Rehab.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to an animal shelter of your choice.

Rest in peace, Granny. You will forever be remembered with love.

 A Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Beebe City Cemetery, 401–499 W California St. in Beebe, AR, with a celebration of life to follow at 2:00 p.m.
