Betty Ogle

Betty Sue Voss Ogle of Mabelvale passed away on Thursday, January 7th, at Baptist Health ICU South.

The celebration service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 12th at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene 25799 Interstate 30 Alexander, AR 72002, with her beloved Pastor Tim Evans officiating. Visitation will be held Monday January 11th, from 5 pm until 7 pm at the church. She will be laid to rest prior to the celebration service at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, AR at 10 am. Betty was born in Spiro, Oklahoma on December 23, 1933. She graduated from Fort Smith High School in Fort Smith, AR and continued on to receive her LPN certification from Baptist Hospital and her RN degree from UALR. Betty was married to Othey F. (Pat) Ogle on August 1, 1952. They were married 55 years prior to Pat's death in 2007. Betty worked as an LPN for Baptist Health. Governor Frank White nominated her to the AR State Board of Nursing, which she proudly served from 1981 to 1985. She returned to school at UALR and received her RN license. After receiving her RN license, she worked for the State of AR, at Children's Medical Services, until she retired.

Betty enjoyed spending time camping, fishing and traveling. She loved being active in her grandchildren's lives, whether it was sitting in the cold watching football, basketball or baseball, or watching with pride as they accomplished milestones in their lives. She was also actively involved at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene serving in whatever need that God's will led her. She taught generations of families. Her last class was one
of her favorites; she enjoyed the fellowship of the Circle of Prayer class.

Betty is survived by her three children, her son Tommy and wife Rhonda Ogle, Linda (Susie) Metzer and Cathy Thompson. Her six grandchildren, Jeffrey Ogle, Nicholas Metzer, Joshua Ogle, Marcus Metzer, Britney (Jake) Gann and Evan Thompson. She has three surviving siblings, Jim (Faye) Voss, Bill (Mary) Voss and Juanita (Charles) Wagoner, with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Annie Voss, her husband, Othey (Pat) Ogle and her brothers, Curtis and Johnnie Voss.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene.

The family of Betty Ogle wishes to thank the staff of ICU South. Nursing was an important part of who Mom was; the compassion they showed was a completion of her job well done.
