Betty Ann Newman, a beloved soul cherished by her family, passed away on June 2, 2024, in Hot Springs, AR. Born on February 1, 1937, to the late John Raymond Stevens, and Mary Katherine Stevens.
Betty was known for her quiet demeanor and gentle nature, epitomizing love and devotion towards her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life – crochet, fishing trips, and exploring treasures at yard sales.
Her proudest accomplishment was the family she built with her beloved husband, Calvin Junior Newman, who passed in 2006. Betty leaves behind her loving sons, John Michael (Connie) Newman, Charles Wayne Newman, Calvin Allan (Lisa) Newman, and Billy Monroe (Suzi) Newman; daughters, Barbara Ann Causey, Debra Lynn Newman, and Paula Deann Schultz; her sister in law, Dee Stevens; She was also blessed with 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
Betty will join in heaven her loving parents, John and Mary; devoted husband, Calvin; two brothers, Bill Stevens and Monroe Stevens; her oldest son, James William Newman; grandson, James "Jimbo" Newman; and sister in law, Pauline Stevens.
She lived by God’s word and touched the lives of all those around her through kindness and warmth. Betty's legacy of love and family values will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

The visitation services to honor Betty Ann Newman's life will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home in Hot Springs on Thursday, June 6th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a funeral service to be held on Friday June 7th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Burial will take place in Morning Star cemetery following the service.
