Betty Sue McDaniel, a beloved wife and mother, entered heaven on December 27, 2023, in Sherwood, Arkansas. Born on April 9, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee, Betty had a vibrant personality and was known for her outgoing nature. She found solace in fellowshipping with her church and cherished every moment spent in the company of her fellow congregants.
Betty was a devoted member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church; where she enjoyed being a greeter on Sunday mornings. Throughout her life, Betty dedicated herself to various hobbies and interests. She possessed a remarkable talent for sewing and crafts, often using her skills to create beautiful blankets for babies and children within the church. Her selflessness and love brought warmth and comfort to numerous young lives, leaving an indelible mark on those she touched.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Richard McDaniel; son Anthony McDaniel (Julie); and daughters Tondra Allman and Donna Russell (Mitch); grandchildren, Nicki, Dawn, Katy, Phillip, Jared, Autumn, Ricky, Lauren; and 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Andello and brother, Charles Pennington.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Perin; parents Vernon and Pauline Pennington; and siblings, Eunice; Alice; Sandy; Paula; and Joel.
As we remember Betty with fondness, let us cherish the memories we shared with this remarkable woman. Her passion for life and dedication to others serve as an inspiration to us all. Betty's legacy of kindness will forever resonate within our hearts.
Betty McDaniel will forever remain in our hearts as a shining example of love, generosity, and unwavering faith. May she rest peacefully knowing the impact she had on the lives around her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) with a funeral service following at 11:30 AM. Burial will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Keith Brickell from Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church. The pallbearers will be Jerry Benton, Leon Schlosser, Chalmer Wayland, James Wayland, Michael Wayland, and Alex Wayland.
