Betty Jean Lewis

Betty Jean Lewis was called home on January 9th, 2024. Betty's faith in the Lord was strong and unwavering.  Her faith and devotion were truly a beacon of light.

Betty was born Betty Jean Conkle on July 26, 1934.  She grew up in the Children's Methodist Home in Little Rock with her 2 younger sisters, Juanita and June. She met her future husband Maurice, when she was 10, and was the only girl to ever hit a homerun off him.

Betty and Maurice married shortly after he returned from Korea in 1952.  Betty was an artist creating numerous paintings and creations.  A wife of 68 years, and a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, who only got better as you got to know her.  She greeted all with open arms.  Betty was always the first person called when someone needed help. Betty loved playing sports and games especially with her family.

Betty was the proud mom of 4 children, Sonny, Beverly, Deborah, and Kevin and a prouder grandmother of 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents George Earnest and Ethel Mae Conkle, her husband Maurice E. Lewis, son, Sonny Lewis, and both sisters, Juanita  Ondic, June Duke.

Betty is survived  by her children, Beverly Rorie, Deborah (Charlie) Brown and Kevin Lewis, her 4 grandchildren, Mark Brown, Christopher Lewis, Victoria Graika and Elizabeth Chanthanivong and 7 great grandchildren. She will be missed by everyone.

Honorary Pallbearers are Roy Lewis, Kevin Lewis, Charlie Brown, Mark Brown, Michael Graika and Christopher Lewis, and in spirit, Maurice E. Lewis and Sonny Lewis.
