Betty Jean Phillips Johnson, age 88, of Arkadelphia, formerly of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015 in Arkadelphia. She was born January 16, 1927 to Charles Derwood and Lona Howell Phillips.
Betty was a member of Arkadelphia First Baptist Church. During her time in Monroe, she was involved with Special Olympics. She enjoyed singing and line dancing. Betty had a special way of touching the lives that she came in contact with. She was very competitive in game playing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Charles Edward Johnson and one sister, Elizabeth Ann Lindle.
Survivors are one brother, Charles Phillips and wife, Thannis of Arkadelphia; one niece, two nephews, three great-nieces, one great-nephew, and one great-great niece.
Services will be 4:00 pm Sunday, December 27th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating. Entombment will be in Monroe, Louisiana. Family will receive friends 3:00 pm Sunday until service time at the funeral home.
