Betty Jo Isenhower, age 91, of Hot Springs, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021.
She was born on February 20, 1930, in Kerens, Texas, the daughter of Curtis Dexter Smyth and Ola May Simmons Smyth. She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
On June 7, 1948, she married Calvin Isenhower. She was a member of Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church and was in the Women’s Auxiliary. Betty Jo loved reading her bible and was always at Calvin's side at church and at home. She retired after 22 years at J. C. Penny. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Calvin Isenhower of Hot Springs; her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Betty Isenhower of Florida; her grandchildren, Melia Evans, Amanda Schieber, Kyle Isenhower and James Isenhower; her nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in the Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Joe Bob Smith and Bro. Gary Isenhower officiating.
Interment will be in the Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday evening, October 12, 2021, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Bill Wood, Loyd Reynolds, Darrell Warren, James McGuire, David Marcos and David Webb.
