Betty Fortner, 71, of Vilonia, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Betty was born February 15, 1938 in North Little Rock to the late Aaron V. and Lillie Manning Simpson. She was member of Landmark Baptist Church in Vilonia.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, James Fortner; seven children, Elvis O. Garren of Damascus, Arthur Dale Garren and Teresa Baker both of Conway, Roger Fortner of Santa Ana, California, Rick Fortner of Sheridan, Jamie Fortner and Jody Fortner both of Benton; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Flora Smith, Linda Harness and Wanda McCraw.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday in North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
