Betty Cureton

Betty Josephine Cureton, 93, of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away October 17, 2024. She was born April 20, 1931 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to the late William and Eula Boydston. 

She preceded in death by her son, Ronald Edward Cureton; sisters, Jewel Fisher, and Wanda McCall, Ernestine Jones. Betty is survived by the love of her life and loving husband of 72 years, William Cureton; daughter, Denise Whitwell; grandchildren, Christina Potts (Daniel) and Michael Whitwell; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Chloe, Kayleigh and Lily Mae; along with a host of family and friends. 

Betty was always willing to put others ahead of herself. Her family was her entire world. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She found joy in spending time with William and was always ready to go on their many adventures. During the fall, Betty and William enjoyed driving through the Ozarks in their convertible admiring the beautiful fall foliage. Holidays were a favorite time for Betty. She looked forward to decorating, cooking, and celebrating with her family.

Betty was a dedicated member of 47th Street Baptist Church for over 50 years. She loved the Lord and always put him first. 

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street). A funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the funeral home with burial following at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
